Turnip Rooted Parsley
« on: March 06, 2013, 18:58 »
Anyone grown Hamburg Turnip Rooted Parsley ?
Does it cope with wind?
Any tips would be appreciated.

Hi Tom,
l love Hamburg Parsley, like a mild parsnip with a hint of celery, they will cope fine with the wind, in general they are lower than parsnip tops, mine have been nibbled by what looks like carrot fly this year but they still ok.
l plant mine the same way l plant parsnips dib a large hole and fill it with fine sifted soil, drop in 4seeds per station about 1/2" deep and cover with netting, dont over water, thin to one per station, simples.

Silky  :D :D :D

Isn't that another name for celeriac?
Nature made rainy days so gardeners could get the housework done.

I'm growing root parsley this year for the first time. Fingers crossed it grows well as I've never tasted it before either.
